What does the Bible say about the concept of sin?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that sin is a universal condition affecting all humanity, leading to both physical and spiritual death (Romans 5:12).

According to the Bible, sin is the hereditary disease that afflicts every human being as a result of Adam's transgression. Romans 5:12 states, 'Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.' This confirms that sin not only impacts our physical existence but also leads to spiritual separation from God. In Isaiah 1:5-6, God describes the deep corruption of humanity, signaling that 'from the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness' in us due to sin. Sin is the root of all evil consequences in the world.
