What does the Bible say about the consequence of unbelief?

According to John 8:24, our Lord declares that if one does not believe that He is the Messiah, they will die in their sins. This concept underscores the gravity of unbelief; it isn’t simply a lack of faith but has eternal ramifications. The loss of belief in Christ leads to spiritual death and separation from God, which began with Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden.
