What does the Bible say about the curse of death?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the curse of death came through sin, as seen in Genesis and Romans.

According to Scripture, the curse of death entered the world through Adam's transgression in the garden of Eden. God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, warning that doing so would bring about death. In Genesis 3:6, Adam, influenced by Eve, disobeys God, plunging humanity into sin and death. Romans 5:12 states, 'Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.' This underscores the Reformed perspective that all humanity inherits this fallen state from Adam's original sin, reinforcing our desperate need for salvation through Christ.
