What does the Bible say about the desire of a believer?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that a believer desires to hear and receive God's commandments, reflecting a changed heart and soul.

According to Proverbs 10:8-9, the wise in heart will receive commandments. This demonstrates that believers, through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, have a new heart and desire to follow God's Word. They seek instruction and yearn to inquire of the Lord, much like Samuel did when he said, 'Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth'. Therefore, the desire of a believer is fundamentally about a longing to know God more deeply and to obey His commandments as a reflection of their faith.
