What does the Bible say about the destruction of Jericho?

In Joshua 6, the destruction of Jericho is presented as a significant event in the conquest of the Promised Land. God had deemed the city accursed because of its immorality and idolatry. As instructed by God, the Israelites were to destroy everything in the city, sparing only Rahab and her family, who had shown faith by protecting the spies.
