What does the Bible say about the difference between Christ's first and second coming?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's first coming was in humility for salvation; His second coming will be in glory as King and Judge.

The contrast between Christ's two comings is striking. In His first coming, Christ was born in humility, came as a servant, and suffered for the sins of humanity (Philippians 2:7-8). However, in His return, He will come as a conquering King, not to save but to judge (Matthew 25:31-32). This distinction is vitally important as it emphasizes the seriousness of His return and affirms that there will be no more opportunity for repentance. His first coming opened the door of grace; the second will close it for those unprepared. The purpose and manner of these comings highlight the deep theological significance of both events.
