What does the Bible say about the expedience of Christ's death?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that Christ's death was necessary for our salvation, as stated in John 16:7.

In John 16:7, Jesus explains that it is expedient for us that He go away, because without His death, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, cannot come to us. His sacrificial death is portrayed as vital to our salvation and communion with God, fulfilling the requirements of divine justice and enabling the sending of the Holy Spirit. This means His death was not incidental, but essential for the redemption of His people. Without Christ's atoning sacrifice, there would be no means for sinners to be justified and reconciled to God.
