What does the Bible say about the foolishness of preaching?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that the preaching of the gospel is considered foolishness by the world but is the power of God for salvation to those who believe.

In 1 Corinthians 1:17-31, the Apostle Paul emphasizes that Christ sent him not to baptize, but to preach the gospel. The message of the gospel is often viewed as foolishness by the world because it challenges human wisdom and understanding. The wisdom of God in Christ, which includes His substitutionary sacrifice and redemptive plan, is inaccessible to those who are spiritually dead without the work of the Holy Spirit. As such, the world fails to recognize the power and wisdom of God contained within the gospel message. Yet, for believers who are regenerated by the Spirit, this preaching transforms lives and reveals the true power of God for salvation.
