What does the Bible say about the fruit of the Word in our hearts?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God's Word should produce fruit in our hearts, such as love, joy, and peace.

According to Hebrews 6:7-12, the Word of God functions much like rain that waters the earth, yielding either good fruit or thorns. The evidence of God's grace in our hearts is seen in the fruits we produce, such as love, joy, and peace, which accompany genuine salvation. If the Word and grace of God are genuinely at work within us, we should observe growth in our spiritual lives toward loving God and others, symbolizing the 'good ground' that receives and nurtures God’s blessings. In contrast, a heart that yields only thorns and brambles signals a rejection of God's work, evident in a lack of faith and love.
