What does the Bible say about the Holy Spirit's role in believers?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is essential for the believer's growth and sustenance, guiding them in truth and producing spiritual fruit.

The Holy Spirit, referred to as the Spirit that enlivens and maintains God's people, plays an indispensable role in the life of a believer. In John 14:16-17, Christ promises to send the Comforter, who will dwell with believers and guide them into all truth. The Holy Spirit is described as the breath of God, bringing refreshing and teaching, crucial for awakening the believer’s heart to the wonders of divine truths. Without the Holy Spirit’s influence, believers would struggle to grasp the depth of their salvation and the richness of their relationship with God. It is by the Spirit that we experience God's love, joy, and peace, enabling us to live in accordance with His will.
