What does the Bible say about the importance of knowledge and love?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that true love is rooted in knowledge, as you cannot love someone you do not know.

In 1 Corinthians 8, the Apostle Paul emphasizes that there can be no genuine love without knowledge. This means that to love God or anyone else, one must have an understanding of their character and nature. Knowledge must be accompanied by love, for while knowledge can lead to pride and arrogance, love edifies and builds up the community of faith. Paul warns against 'knowledge that puffs up'—a type of understanding that does not foster a loving spirit but instead results in conceit and division.
