What does the Bible say about the importance of miracles?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that miracles are not the core message; they serve to direct attention to the gospel of Christ.

In Acts 5, we see that while many miraculous healings occurred, the apostles emphasized that the true focus was not on the miracles themselves but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. The healings acted as signs that drew people to the apostles’ message about Christ and Him crucified (Acts 5:14). Miracles can capture attention, but they are not the ultimate purpose of the church’s ministry; rather, the preaching of the word is central.
