What does the Bible say about the importance of religious light?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible emphasizes that religious light must be received and obeyed, not merely acknowledged.

In Luke 11:33-36, Jesus teaches that the light of the body is the eye, signifying that if our eye is single, our whole body will be full of light. This illustrates the necessity of not only hearing the gospel but allowing it to transform our lives through obedience. When we neglect the light offered to us—much like hiding a candle under a bushel—we do grave harm to our spiritual condition. This neglect can be just as serious as the actions of those who have never encountered the gospel.
