What does the Bible say about the importance of rulers?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that rulers must heed the truth, as false guidance leads to wickedness among their followers.

According to Proverbs 29:12, if a ruler hearkens to lies, all his servants are wicked. This reflects God's established order of rule and authority, beginning with His creation. God's design has always included structure and guidance, exemplified in how He rules over all things and delegates authority among men. The consequence of ignoring truth is not only detrimental to the ruler but also permeates to the followers, leading them to misguide and misinform based on falsehoods.
