What does the Bible say about the interpretation of dreams?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible, particularly in Daniel 2, highlights that true interpretation of dreams comes from God, as He reveals secrets to His chosen ones.

In Daniel 2, King Nebuchadnezzar experiences troubling dreams and seeks understanding that no earthly wise man can provide. Daniel, a faithful servant of God, steps forward and acknowledges that human wisdom is insufficient. He states, 'the secret which the king demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers show unto the king; but there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets' (Daniel 2:27-28). Thus, the biblical perspective emphasizes that the understanding of dreams, particularly those of divine origin or significance, rests solely in the hands of God and is granted to those He has chosen.
