What does the Bible say about the law and righteousness?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that the law serves as a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ and that true righteousness is found only in Him.

The Scriptures affirm that while the Law of Moses is not a lie, those who regard it as a means of establishing their own righteousness err significantly. The purpose of the law is to reveal our need for Christ, serving as a schoolmaster that brings us to Him (Galatians 3:24). True righteousness is not based on adherence to a moral code but is found solely in embracing Jesus Christ, who embodies the very definition of truth and righteousness (Romans 10:3-4). To see the law apart from its ultimate role in pointing to the Savior is to diminish its purpose and to fall into a misunderstanding that is less than God's intended truth.
