What does the Bible say about the life of Jacob?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible presents Jacob as a man chosen by God, despite his many trials and failures.

Jacob's life, as recorded in Scripture, shows God's grace in the face of his many struggles and sins. Throughout Genesis, we see Jacob wrestling with not only his brother Esau but also with God Himself. Despite his deceptive actions and fears, God identifies Jacob as His chosen one, stating, 'Jacob have I loved' (Romans 9). Jacob's story illustrates that God saves sinners and uses them, demonstrating that even when we are mired in failures, we remain recipients of God's love.
