What does the Bible say about the praise of men?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns against loving the praise of men more than the praise of God, as seen in John 12:42-43.

In John 12:42-43, we see that many of the chief rulers believed in Jesus, but they did not confess Him because they feared being put out of the synagogue. This highlights a critical issue of the heart: the love of human approval can prevent true faith and confession of Christ. When people prioritize the praise of men over the praise of God, they reveal a shallow understanding of their need for salvation. Ultimately, this misplaced affection leads to spiritual blindness and separation from God.
