What does the Bible say about the pride of Judah?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes the pride of Judah as marred and unprofitable, akin to a girdle that is good for nothing.

In Jeremiah 13, the Lord compares the pride of Judah to a marred linen girdle that is of no use. This signifies the deep spiritual corruption and disobedience of the people of Judah, as they have turned away from God's commandments and engaged in idolatry. Just as the girdle, which was meant to be a useful garment, became useless when defiled, so too has the pride of Judah rendered them distant from God and incapable of fulfilling their intended purpose as His people. He desired them to be a people for His name and glory, but their refusal to heed His words has led to their downfall.
