What does the Bible say about the purpose of God in Obadiah?

Answered in 1 source

The purpose of God cannot be hindered or frustrated; it is assuredly fulfilled as shown in Obadiah's prophecy.

In Obadiah, we learn that God's purpose regarding redemption and judgment is unalterable. Before the birth of Jacob and Esau, God declared that the elder, Esau, would serve the younger. This declaration is meant to reassure believers that no opposition from the reprobate can ultimately hinder God's sovereign plans. This reinforces the idea that God's purpose prevails, as seen throughout Scripture and confirmed in Romans 9:11-18, where God's sovereign choice is articulated concerning His love for Jacob and His hatred for Esau.
