What does the Bible say about the purpose of the world?

Answered in 1 source

The world exists to bring glory to God through the salvation of His people.

The primary purpose of the world is to glorify God by facilitating the salvation of His people. This concept can be understood through the narrative of salvation history, from the fall of man to the redemptive work of Christ, culminating in eternal glory. In Mark 1:1-3, we see the announcement of Christ's coming, which signifies that all of creation is designed to point towards God's plan of redemption. The hardships we face in this world remind us of our frailty and the imperative of turning our eyes towards eternity and Christ's salvation.
