What does the Bible say about the purpose of trouble in life?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that trouble serves to draw believers closer to God and reveal true faith.

Scripture indicates that trouble is an inherent part of life, particularly for believers. In Job 14:1, we read that man is born to trouble. This affliction is often used by God to reveal false faith and to draw His children closer to Him. In 2 Chronicles 15:4, it is shown that when God’s people are in trouble and turn to Him, they are found by Him. Trouble shakes us from our complacency and refines our faith, bringing us dependent on God's grace and mercy.
