What does the Bible say about the relationship between a believer and the law?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are freed from the law through the death of Christ, allowing them to live in a new covenant relationship.

The Bible teaches that believers are bound to the law as long as they live, as illustrated in Romans 7:1-4. However, through the body of Christ's death, they are loosed from that law and are now able to be married to another—specifically, Christ, who was raised from the dead. This change signifies a transition from the covenant of works to a new covenant of grace. Hence, while the law remains a guide, it does not condemn or bind the believer, who is now to live under grace, producing fruit for God.
