What does the Bible say about the relationship between faith and hope?

Answered in 1 source

Faith and hope are inseparable, as faith is the belief in what we hope for, anchored in God's promises.

The relationship between faith and hope is clearly articulated in Scripture. As outlined in the sermon, faith is described as the 'substance of things hoped for,' implying that our faith is fundamentally linked to our expectations for the future. Hope is defined as a confident expectation grounded in God's Word. Consequently, everything one hopes for and believes must have its foundation in the scriptures; otherwise, such hope is deemed false and without substance. A believer's assurance of standing justified before God, as well as their confidence in eternal acceptance, rests entirely upon the unchanging promises found in the Bible. It is therefore critical for Christians to understand that true hope is always anchored in the veracity of God’s Word.
