What does the Bible say about the rock that was Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible refers to Christ as the spiritual rock from which believers draw sustenance and life.

In 1 Corinthians 10:4, Paul explains that the Israelites drank from the 'spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.' This illustrates the mystical union between Jesus and the sustenance He provides for His people. The rock, which Moses struck to provide water for the thirsty Israelites, symbolizes Christ's sacrifice and the life-giving grace that flows from Him to sustain and nourish the believer in their spiritual wilderness. Although appearing ordinary, Christ, like the rock, offers an abundance of life and nourishment for those who approach Him in faith.
