What does the Bible say about the role of grace in good works?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible emphasizes that while believers receive a new nature through grace, they must depend on Christ for the fulfillment of good works.

The Scriptures teach that upon regeneration, believers are given a new nature characterized by grace, often referred to as the 'habit of grace.' However, this new nature does not render them self-sufficient in executing good works. The fullness of grace is found in Christ alone, as John 1:16 states, and it is through Him that believers receive the necessary supplies of grace to perform what is well-pleasing in God's sight (Hebrews 13:21). Thus, every act of obedience is only acceptable to God through the mediation and intercession of Jesus Christ, who enables believers to carry out their responsibilities.
