What does the Bible say about the salvation of souls?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that the ultimate end of faith is the salvation of our souls, as affirmed in 1 Peter 1:9.

In 1 Peter 1:9, it is declared that the end of our faith is the salvation of our souls. This encapsulates the complete work of Christ and the fullness of God’s grace. Salvation encompasses both what we are saved from—namely, the horrors of sin and hell—and what we are saved unto, which is eternal life and bliss in the presence of God. While we may experience glimpses of divine judgment and grace in this life, the full reality of salvation will only be fully realized in eternity.

Moreover, this salvation is not merely a future hope but an assurance that undergirds our present struggles. Even in the midst of trouble or when overwhelmed by guilt and fear, true faith—given by God—endures and leads us toward the ultimate fulfillment of salvation. It is critically important for Christians to grasp that our faith holds a promise that transcends current trials, culminating in our deliverance and enjoyment of God’s presence forever.
