What does the Bible say about the seals in Revelation?

Answered in 1 source

The seals in Revelation represent God's unfolding plan and authority over all creation, revealing His power and intentions.

In Revelation chapters 4, 5, and 6, the seals are integral to God's eternal purposes. They signify His claim over creation and how He asserts His rights throughout history. No one in heaven or on earth is worthy to open the book and loose its seals except for Jesus Christ, the Lamb. The opening of each of the first six seals unleashes significant events, including the four horsemen, which symbolize various trials, wars, poverty, and ultimately, death and destruction. Thus, the seals represent both God's authority and the unfolding of events in the world that highlight His sovereignty over creation.
