What does the Bible say about the second temple's glory?

Answered in 1 source

The second temple's glory is greater than the first because Jesus Christ, the desire of all nations, walked within it.

In Haggai 2:9, God declares that the glory of the latter house will be greater than that of the former. This does not refer to physical ornamentation or beauty, as seen from a worldly perspective, but to the spiritual significance brought by Jesus Christ, who inhabited the temple. The glory of the second temple was fulfilled in Christ, as He is the true meeting place with God. Unlike the first temple, which had splendid adornments, the second temple housed the embodiment of divine glory in the person of Jesus, which surpasses all earthly splendor.
