What does the Bible say about the survival of the church?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that the church will survive all challenges because it is built on Christ, who purchased it with His blood.

According to Matthew 16:18, Jesus declared that He would build His church on the rock of Peter's confession that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. This foundation ensures that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Throughout history, despite various challenges like persecution, bad preaching, and theological disputes, the church of Jesus Christ continues to exist and thrive because it is His church, purchased with His own blood (Ephesians 5:25). The survival of the church is rooted in God's sovereign will, and His people will always gather to worship Him, regardless of the circumstances they face.
