What does the Bible say about the three crosses at Golgotha?

Answered in 1 source

The three crosses at Golgotha represent two types of people: the righteous and the wicked.

In Mark 15, we see three men crucified: Jesus in the center and two thieves on either side. These three crosses symbolize the reality of human sin and the differing fates of individuals. One thief died in his sins, representing the wicked who reject Christ, while the other, through faith, died unto sin because he recognized Jesus as the Lord, one who was dying for sin. This exemplifies how, according to sovereign grace theology, there are ultimately only two kinds of people before God: the righteous and the wicked.
