What does the Bible say about the two natures of man?

Answered in 4 sources

The Bible teaches that believers have two natures: the old sinful nature and the new nature created in Christ, which struggles against each other.

In the scriptures, particularly in Romans 7 and Galatians 5, we see the clear teaching of two natures within believers. The old nature, often referred to as the 'flesh', is corrupt and sinful, while the new nature is holy and desires to follow God's law. This conflict is indicative of the spiritual battle that all believers face, where they find themselves unable to do the good they wish to do, and instead do what they hate. This duality helps to explain why believers still struggle with sin despite being made new in Christ.
