What does the Bible say about the wealth of the wicked?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns that worldly wealth cannot secure one's eternal destiny and will not accompany them after death.

Scripture often addresses the fleeting nature of worldly wealth and the folly of trusting in it for security or status. Psalm 49 emphasizes that despite the temporary success and riches of the wicked, they will ultimately face death just like everyone else, leaving their possessions behind. Wealth cannot redeem one's soul nor avert the coming judgment. Contrastingly, the believer finds true security in the Lord, for God promises to redeem the faithful from the power of the grave (Psalm 49:15). Therefore, Christians are encouraged to focus on eternal treasures rather than earthly riches, which are superficial and transient.
