What does the Bible say about the wisdom of God in the Gospel?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible reveals that God's wisdom, especially through the Gospel, is distinct from worldly wisdom and is comprehended only through the Holy Spirit.

In 1 Corinthians, Paul contrasts the wisdom of God with the wisdom of the world. He emphasizes that while the message of the cross may appear as foolishness to the natural man, it is actually the power and wisdom of God for those who believe (1 Corinthians 1:18). This wisdom was ordained before the foundation of the world and is revealed to believers through the Spirit. The natural man, lacking spiritual discernment, does not receive the things of the Spirit, as they seem foolish to him (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, the Gospel's wisdom is a mystery hidden to the wise of this world yet understood by those who are enlightened by the Spirit of God.
