What does the Bible say about the wisdom of the world?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that God's wisdom contrasts sharply with the wisdom of the world, which He holds in contempt.

In 1 Corinthians 1:19, God declares that He will destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. This demonstrates that human wisdom falls short in understanding God's nature and ways. As man attempts to reach wisdom through rebellion, illustrated in the Garden of Eden, he instead plunges into folly and condemnation. The scriptures affirm that true wisdom is only revealed to the humble and the childlike (Matthew 11:25) and not to the self-reliant or worldly wise.
