What does the Bible say about the wisdom of this world?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible states that God holds the wisdom of this world in utter contempt (1 Corinthians 1:19).

The Bible teaches that the wisdom of this world is ultimately futile and is dismissed by God as unworthy of His esteem. In 1 Corinthians 1:19, we see that God declares, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.' This verse illustrates that human wisdom pales in comparison to divine wisdom. God does not consider the knowledge and achievements of mankind to hold any lasting value when separated from His truth. Therefore, while education and knowledge are necessary for functioning in society, they should not be regarded as ultimate truths or means of salvation.
