What does the Bible say about the works of Christ?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible declares that Christ has finished the work the Father gave Him, bringing salvation to His people through His perfect righteousness and sacrifice.

According to Scripture, Jesus states, 'I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do' (John 17:4). This emphasizes the finality and completeness of His mission as our substitute and mediator. Throughout His life on earth, Christ lived in perfect obedience to God's law, fulfilling all righteousness on behalf of His people. His works include both the active obedience of living a sinless life and the passive obedience of dying on the cross for our sins. Thus, salvation is indeed achieved not by human effort but solely through Christ's accomplishments, which glorify God and fulfill the demands of divine justice.
