What does the Bible say about trials for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that trials serve to strengthen our faith and lead us to trust in Christ alone.

According to Scripture, trials are not necessarily a sign of unfaithfulness but can happen even to the most faithful believers. Hezekiah's experience in Isaiah 38 illustrates this truth well. Despite being a king who restored true worship in Judah and lived an exemplary life of faith, he faced severe trials including sickness and the threat of invasion. These experiences taught him reliance on God and the importance of turning from worldly attachments to embrace Christ fully. As John 16:33 says, 'In the world you will have tribulation; but take heart; I have overcome the world,' indicating that trials serve a purpose in the believer's life to draw them closer to Christ.
