What does the Bible say about true life?

According to 1 John 1:2, the essence of true life is embodied in Christ, referred to as the 'word of life.' He is the source of eternal life, meaning that any life outside of Christ is essentially death. The Gospel stresses that 'He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life' (1 John 5:12). This underscores that true life is indelibly linked to our relationship with Christ. Spiritual life, therefore, can only come through Him as a gift, not a result of our own efforts or merits.
