What does the Bible say about trusting in Christ over human philosophy?

The Apostle Paul expresses deep concern for the church, cautioning them against being misled by human philosophies and enticing words that detract from the truth of the Gospel. In Colossians 2:8, he warns the believers not to be taken captive by hollow and deceptive philosophies, which are based on human tradition rather than Christ. The essence of faith is to trust in the sovereign wisdom of God instead of the ever-changing perspectives of man. Philosophy may seem appealing, but it is ultimately flawed when compared to the wisdom found in Christ, in whom are hidden all treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). He urges believers to be rooted and built up in their faith, firmly established in the truth of the Gospel.
