What does the Bible say about truth setting us free?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible states that knowing the truth, which is found in Christ, will set you free (John 8:32).

In John 8, Jesus declares to His listeners, 'You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.' This asserts the essentiality of understanding truth as a person—Jesus Himself—rather than merely a set of doctrines or moral standards. The freedom spoken of here is liberation from the bondage of sin, guilt, and condemnation, which the law brings upon us. This freedom is attained by a relationship with Christ, who embodies truth.
