What does the Bible say about weeping during trials?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible acknowledges that weeping in times of trouble is natural for Christians, reflecting tender-heartedness before God.

The Bible does not condemn weeping or sorrow in times of trial; instead, it encourages Christians to express their emotions in the presence of God. Job, for instance, mourned deeply upon receiving devastating news and wept before the Lord. Job's actions demonstrate that there is no sin in mourning, as the Lord's children are supposed to have tender feelings. In Romans 12:15, Paul writes, 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep,' highlighting the importance of acknowledging grief. Sorrow may accompany us in trials, but we are called to remember that we grieve with hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).
