What does the Bible say about what Jesus must do for us?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that Jesus must suffer, die, and rise again to redeem His people.

According to the Scriptures, particularly in Matthew 16:21, Jesus clearly states that He must go to Jerusalem, suffer many things, be killed, and be raised on the third day. This necessity arises from God’s divine plan for salvation. Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God, must perform the ultimate act of sacrifice to atone for the sins of His people, fulfilling the righteous demands of God’s justice. The path to our salvation is solely through what Jesus accomplished: His suffering, death, and resurrection are essential for us to be justified before God.
