What does the Bible say about when a person is saved?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that a sinner is saved from the foundation of the world, through faith in Christ, and at the final return of Christ.

According to Romans 8:29-30, salvation encompasses several stages: God's foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification. Before the foundation of the world, God chose His people and made promises to them. However, this does not exclude the necessity of believing in Christ for salvation, as Romans 10:9 states that confession and belief in Jesus is essential. Ultimately, the elect are saved in eternity, through the blood of Christ, and continue to be saved as they receive faith by the Holy Spirit.
