What does the Bible say about who can stand in God's presence?

Answered in 1 source

Psalm 24 reveals that only those with clean hands and a pure heart can stand in God's presence.

In Psalm 24, David asks, 'Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place?' (Psalm 24:3). The answer comes through a description of the one who can stand before God - having clean hands and a pure heart. Ultimately, this description points to Jesus Christ, the sinless Savior who alone can enter God's presence. Since none of us are righteous by our own deeds, it highlights our need for a mediator, which is fulfilled in Christ who satisfies God's requirements for holiness.
