What does the Bible say about who makes us differ?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that it is God alone who makes us differ from others by His sovereign grace.

According to 1 Corinthians 4:7, the Apostle Paul asks, 'For who maketh thee to differ from another?' This rhetorical question highlights the doctrine of sovereign grace, asserting that the distinctions between believers and unbelievers rest entirely upon God's choice and calling. It is by God's grace that believers are regenerated and transformed into new creatures in Christ, having a new heart and new motives. Hence, the real issue of who makes a believer differ from an unbeliever fundamentally revolves around who does the saving—God or man.
