What does the Bible say about who the Lord saves?

Answered in 1 source

The Lord saves the poor and the needy, as illustrated in Mark 10 with the children and the rich young ruler.

In Mark 10, Jesus illustrates that the Lord saves those who are poor and needy. This is represented by the infants that mothers bring to Him, who are utterly dependent and have no capacity to save themselves. Conversely, the rich young ruler, who believed he had righteousness to offer, was told it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for him to enter the kingdom of God. Here, Jesus points out that whoever wishes to enter the kingdom must come as a little child, recognizing their own utter dependence on God for salvation.
