What does the Bible say about why Christ was hated?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible reveals that Jesus was hated because he testified that the works of the world are evil (John 7:7).

In John 7:7, Jesus explains to his brethren that the world cannot hate them because they share in the same practices as the world. However, He is hated for one reason: He exposes the evil of those works. This hatred is not merely because of worldly sins, but extends to religious practices that deny the power of true worship. Jesus, in His ministry, revealed the true nature of God and called out the superficiality of religious actions that lacked internal faith. This confrontation of the established religious norms ultimately led to His rejection, as many preferred the comfort of their traditions over the truth He embodied.
