What does the Bible say about why man was created?

Answered in 1 source

Man was created to demonstrate the glory of God through redemption and to have communion with Him.

The Bible reveals that man was created to glorify God and to participate in a relationship with Him. This relationship, however, is only possible through the work of redemption provided by Christ, who was the Savior before the foundation of the world. Scripture teaches that humanity was created in the image of God to enjoy fellowship with Him, but sin has severed this communion. Therefore, the redemptive plan through Christ is essential to restore that relationship and bring glory to God's name.
