What does the Bible say about why men aren't saved?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible indicates that men aren't saved primarily due to their lack of belief in the gospel.

The Bible teaches that men are not saved by the gospel even though they hear it because they do not believe it. In Mark 16:15-16, it is stated that he who believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be damned. This lack of belief can stem from various reasons, including a disdain for the knowledge of God, particular sins they refuse to give up, or trust in their own righteousness instead of Christ. Hebrews 4:2 also warns us that the gospel does not profit those who do not mix it with faith. Essentially, faith is crucial for salvation, and without it, even the preached word does not bring about salvation.
